Welcome!
Victor Ferretiz is a surrealist and multi‑style artist born and raised in Tamaulipas, Mexico, now based in Dallas, Texas, known for his oil and acrylic paintings, hand-painted trinket boxes, denim jackets, and cedar chests.
Background and Early Life
Ferretiz has been raised by his grandmother in a small town in Mexico since he was only 27 days old. His artistic journey began at age five, experimenting with graphite, watercolors, clay, pastels, and colored pencils. Due to limited local art education opportunities, he moved to the United States in 2013, where he completed high school and college, earning a Fine Arts degree from the University of North Texas in Denton.
Ferretiz is described as a surrealist artist who also works in naturalism and magical/surreal art. He often paints trees, flowers, birds, and butterflies, symbolizing growth, purity, and transformation. His work explores self‑identity, memory, transformation, and the human connection with nature.
Media and Techniques
He primarily uses oil and acrylic paints on canvas, but also works with objects such as repurposed antique wooden boxes, denim jackets, antique cedar chests, and hand-painted furniture.
